Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-language Pathology (BASLP)

Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP) is a 4-year academic program offered at the Institute of Medicine (IOM) only.  
The course enables the speech and hearing specialist, commonly referred to as Audiologist and Speech Pathologist, to provide services are as follows-
  1. hearing disorders 
  2. stammering, 
  3. Stuttering,
  4.  voice disorder, 
  5. language development disorders 
The degree is yet to be recognized by Nepal Health professional Council.
Eligibility Criteria for BASLP
  1. Passed 10+2 Science or equivalent (with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) with 50% aggregate in total marks or CGPA 2.4 OR

  2. Secured the Percentage equivalent to the above eligibility in regards to the certificate level programs (A-Level) with different grading systems OR
  3. Applicants who have passed the Health Science Proficiency Certificate Level/Diploma (General Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Radiography, Physiotherapy) containing Physics, Chemistry, and Biology With Certificate of Equivalence to Grade 12 Science program from National Examination Board AND
  4. Secured at least 50% aggregate in total marks both in Diploma and the Examination for equivalence AND
  5. Registered in Nepal Health Professional Council of Nepal Pharmacy Council, or Nepal Ayurveda Councils per related educational program.

  1. Knowledge of preventing, assessing, and habilitating.
  2. Logical and scientific thinking habits.
  3. Clear expression of thought.
  4. Develop students' skills.
  5. Competence by peer interaction.
  6. Familiarize students with the historical evolution process of the subject matter.
