Bachelor in Physiotherapy (BPT)

 
Bachelor is a 4-year undergraduate program that deals with the science of physical movement. Only a few nurses in government hospitals were provided with physiotherapy training, which continued as therapists. It started in Nepal 45 years back with some health professionals selling the need for physiotherapy for patients. 

Requirements for Bachelor in Physiotherapy

  • Students must be passed intermediate in science (ISC) or higher secondary level (10+2 Science streams) in the biology stream with a minimum C+ grade in physics, biology, and chemistry. 
  • A level student must have studied physics, chemistry, and biology with a minimum aggregate of 50% or a 2.4 GPA.
  • PCL or diploma students must have an equivalent proficiency Certificate level of physiotherapy (CPT) registered in NHPC as recognized by the concerned University with at least 50% marks or equivalent. 
  • Students must be appeared and pass on examination with at least 50% marks.

Job description of bachelor in Physiotherapy

A physical therapist, also known as a physiotherapist, is a trained healthcare professional who assists patients who are physically incapacitated due to disease, trauma, disability, or ageing. Moreover, it prescribes remedial exercises and improves muscle strength evaluation and quantification. Through this, you can do physical treatment like diathermy, ultrasonic therapy, cryotherapy, e.t.c. Apart from this, you can apply manual therapy, mobilization, manipulation of soft tissue techniques e.t.c. It improves the status of patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction and develops communication skills and depth knowledge of the science and practice of Physiotherapy. Along with this, you will also be able to do the training of wheelchair and gait training with or without ambulatory aids.
